On September 16th, 2021, the world stopped turning for Cody McConnell and his loved ones. Mchale Busch and Noah McConnell were murdered in Hinton, Alberta by a convicted sex offender who lived next door. Cody and Mchale were unaware of this when moving their family into the apartment. This unimaginable crime was 100% preventable. Cody needs all the support possible to change legislation in their names
ABOUT NOAH'S LAW
The National Sex Offender Registry Database allows police to conduct searches based on information that has been collected and registered. Managed by the RCMP, it includes personal details on registered sex offenders, including where they live. Police agencies can access the database, but members of the public cannot. This database should and needs to be accessible to the public, especially if the offender is deemed likely to reoffend.
Changes to rental laws are essential, to ensure tenants are aware of any potential threats such as a registered sex offender living in their buildings. Civilians have a right to know who is living next door or in their community.
